About Robert Gerson

Self portrait drawing of Robert GersonArtist, graphic designer, and author Robert Gerson has produced a diverse body of work for several publishers as a book and publications designer and art director. His first novel, Life: part-time, appeared in August 2020 as a limited edition trade paperback. Notable books he designed include the hardcover photography collection The Mural Project, Photography by Ansel Adams, Reverie Press, and more than one hundred titles in the Harold Bloom literary anthology series for Chelsea House Publishers.

Growing up in New York City, Robert’s career in publishing began early at fourteen years old when he edited and designed the limited edition fantasy and comic art magazine Reality. Generous mentoring by publishing industry editors, art directors, and illustrators introduced him to book and magazine publishing in Manhattan. Robert studied at The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.

A long-time resident of Santa Barbara, Robert lives in the Santa Ynez Valley with his wife, Annette, and their rescue kitties, Asia and Jet.

Robert is currently working on:  
A New York City in 1970 novel titled Tree Recordings.
An illustrated version of Life: part-time.
Several painting series that will be offered for sale in Winter 2023.
